Commercial Music Graduate Finds His Place in Sport

University of the West of Scotland (UWS) graduate Cameron MacAllister tells us how the flexibility of the course allowed him to harness his creativity beyond the realms of music. Cameron, who is Senior Communications and External Affairs Manager at Glasgow Warriors, graduated from the BA (Hons) Commercial Music degree at UWS with a first-class honours in July 2011. A keen rugby fan all his life, initially he never thought there would be a career path in sport for him. Law Firm Signs UWS Graduate and Former Football Star as Head of Sports

Legal firm Gilson Gray has appointed University of the West of Scotland (UWS) graduate and former Scottish football player David Winnie to lead its service offering in the sports sector. David’s professional football career started with St Mirren in 1983 and he was part of the Scottish Cup Final winning team in 1987. He also played for Aberdeen, Dundee and Hearts, and went on to play in England, Australia and Iceland. Celebrating International Nurses Day 2024: The ‘Economic Power of Care’

To celebrate International Nurses Day on 12 May, we hear from Canada-based former University of the West of Scotland (UWS) student David Ritchie. David, who graduated in Mental Health Nursing from UWS, is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse working in British Columbia, Canada. Enrolling in 2003 at the then University of Paisley (now UWS Paisley Campus), David worked as a community health nurse following graduation in 2006, working in Scotland for 7 years before emigrating.
