The exciting new novel from a University of the West of Scotland (UWS) alumna will officially launch on 8 October 2024 with an event at Waterstones in Glasgow followed by events in Leeds and London. A graduate’s dissertation project V-Art has been nominated in the Best Student Game Category at the TIGA UK Games Education Awards, which recognising outstanding students, education providers and good practice. Will Hamilton, who recently graduated with first-class honours in BSc Computer Games Development, designed the game to act as an accessible art gallery – sending players inside stunning virtual reality (VR) recreations of well-known paintings, such as The Scream by Edvard Munch. Alumnus Wins Paralympic Gold in Individual Boccia

A former University of the West of Scotland (UWS) student has won a Paralympic gold medal in individual boccia in Paris. Stephen McGuire who studied at Bell College (now UWS Lanarkshire Campus) defeated Colombia's Edilson Chica 8-5 to win the BC4 men's individual title at the South Paris Arena.
