On the 27th and 28th November 2025, we held our annual UWS Giving Day, and we are delighted to share the results. Over the two days, 47 generous donors came together to raise £3,073 and thanks to the kindness of a match funding donor, every gift made during giving day was doubled which brings our grand total to £6,146! This incredible support will go towards two vital funds that make a real difference in the lives of UWS students. Forty Years of Friendship Formed in Paisley

Two graduates returned to Paisley Campus recently to mark the beginning of a friendship that has lasted forty years. Mags Easton and Fee Mackinnon met on the first day at the then Paisley College (now UWS Paisley campus) whilst enrolling on the BSc (Hons) Computing Science degree in 1985. Mags commented: “We met as first years in Paisley when I was just sixteen, became best friends and have been a big part of each other's lives ever since. Brothers graduate from the same course with first class degrees

A pair of brothers are celebrating their graduation – after both graduating from the same course. Balint and Peter Kaszap-Nagy both graduated from the BSc (Hons) Web and Mobile Development course at University of the West of Scotland (UWS) with a first class degree. Balint, 32, said: “We decided to enrol on the same course because both of us have always been interested in programming and technology, so choosing this course felt like a natural fit. It also gave us an opportunity to develop skills that we knew would be valuable for building something together in the future.” The brothers are originally from Hungary but have lived in Scotland for the past nine years.
