Husband and wife Fahim Baqir and Faiza Baqir, celebrate graduating together at a ceremony in Paisley Abbey during Summer graduation.
Both Fahim and Fazia graduated from the BA Business and Leadership course, delivered in partnership with New College Lanarkshire, returning to education after years focusing on family, running businesses, and serving their community.

Fahim commented: “One year ago, Faiza and I made the decision to return to university in our later lives.
“It hasn’t been an easy journey balancing family, work, community commitments and studying, but every late night and every assignment has been worth it.”
Fahim, who was this year appointed as Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, is a Scottish entrepreneur, community leader, and charitable founder who has devoted much of his professional life to public service and community development.
As founder and chair of The Well Foundation, Fahim has overseen humanitarian projects delivering clean drinking water to communities across more than twenty-five countries, as well as medical outreach initiatives including eye camps in Pakistan.
In Scotland, he established the Well Foundation Sports Academy to promote youth engagement and development through football, working closely with grassroots and professional organizations.
Fazia, who is also involved in charity work and running her own business, commented: “This degree is more than a qualification – it’s a reminder that it’s never too late to learn, grow and challenge yourself.
“If you’re thinking about taking that first step, do it!”
