You are warmly invited to attend a public screening of the UWS-produced short documentary ‘Unsilenced’ on Thursday 11 June 2026 from 4.00pm at our Paisley Campus.

‘Unsilenced’ features the story of Dr Ann Moulds CBE, an Honorary Doctor of the University of the West of Scotland, and a survivor of stalking who campaigned successfully for stalking to be recognised as a crime, and who launched the first anti-stalking charity in the UK. Please note that the film contains themes of sexual violence, nudity and threat.
The short documentary screening will be followed by an expert panel discussion facilitated by Dr Maria Sapouna, Senior Lecturer in Criminology & Criminal Justice at UWS, and will feature contributions from Dr Ann Moulds CBE; along with Detective Chief Inspector Gary Sergeant of Police Scotland; Shannon Russell, Head of Policy & Campaigns at Action Against Stalking; Louise Johnson, National Policy Lead at Scottish Women’s Aid; and Dr Matt Frew, Senior Lecturer in Enterprise & Transformational Technologies at UWS.
The panel will discuss how much has changed for victims of stalking since Dr Mould’s personal experience; contemporary challenges in policing stalking; and how protection and justice for victims can be strengthened.
This event would be of interest to academics, practitioners and policy-makers working in the area of stalking, gender-based violence, domestic abuse and women’s rights.
Join us on Thursday 11 June for this in-person event at UWS Paisley campus, which will commence at 4.00pm, followed by refreshments and networking from 5.00pm – 5.30pm.
