Discount for Alumni Undertaking the Master’s in Professional Practice on a Part-time Basis

University of the West of Scotland’s Master’s in Professional Practice (MProf) is now available on a part-time basis with a 20% discount on master’s degree tuition fees for self-funding UWS Alumni.

Representing a first in Scotland, the MProf offers the opportunity for participants to design a postgraduate programme that is fully tailored to their professional and personal development needs – providing the ability to select a range of modules from across UWS’s vast portfolio.

UWS alumni can now take advantage of a 20% discount on tuition fees for a Master’s programme that has an intake in May 2024 and provides a flexible approach to meeting the needs of graduates and professionals looking to engage in personalised, accelerated, and impactful professional development.

Karen Stitt, UWS Health Studies graduate and Practice Educator at NHS Dumfries & Galloway, said: “The Master’s in Professional Practice programme really jumped out at me as something that would fit round my work-life balance.

“I also like the idea of being able to tailor the focus of my learning and to be able to start the programme at different points throughout the year. This flexibility is really important to me as I can choose the relevant modules based on my focus at work and blend both together, enabling me to relate my learning to my practice.”

Applicants can choose to do the over-arching programme title of Professional Practice, or select one of the sector-focused pathways:

  • Professional Practice (Sustainable Development)
  • Professional Practice (Creative Leadership & Management)
  • Professional Practice (Healthcare Education)
  • Professional Practice (Learning & Teaching)
  • Professional Practice (Social Justice)

In addition to the standard degree qualification usually required for postgraduate study, applicants can also use considerable work experience to gain a place on the course.

The MProf is available at Ayr, Dumfries, Lanarkshire, London, Paisley, online with face-to-face learning and fully online.

If you would like to find out more about the Master’s in Professional Practice, an online open evening is taking place on Monday 25 March 2024 18:00 – 20:00. Register here.
