Graduate Apprenticeships (GAs) at UWS provide a fully-funded pathway for individuals to a achieve degree or for organisations to invest in the talents of their workforce.

Some sectors are reporting critical skills shortages that are affecting the growth of individual organisations and the wider Scottish economy. Graduate Apprenticeships have been developed in response to demand from industry, and are matched to industries that need employees with degree-level qualifications and real-world work experience.

UWS is delivering Graduate Apprenticeships with support from Scottish Funding Council and Skills Development Scotland. Tuition fees are met by Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS), which reduces the cost to employers and means they can maximise the return on investment.

We currently offers six Graduate Apprenticeships:

BA (HONS) BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
The BA (Hons) Business Management is a Graduate Apprenticeship degree for full-time employees in Scotland, and is delivered mostly on-the-job.

BA (HONS) BUSINESS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The GA in Business and Project Management is brand new for 2024 and has been developed in collaboration with industry leaders to develop aspiring Project Managers.

BENG (HONS) CIVIL ENGINEERING
This BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering is a Graduate Apprenticeship degree for full-time employees in Scotland. It is delivered mostly through company-based learning and assessment.

BA EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE
The UWS Graduate Apprenticeship degree BA Early Learning and Childcare has been developed in response to the national agenda – A Blueprint for 2020.

BENG (HONS) ENGINEERING DESIGN & MANUFACTURE
The BEng (Hons) Engineering Design & Manufacture is a Graduate Apprenticeship degree for full-time employees in Scotland. It is delivered mostly through company-based learning and assessment.

BSC (HONS) IT: SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
The BSc (Hons) IT: Software Development is a Graduate Apprenticeship degree for full-time employees in Scotland. It is accredited by the British Computer Society and is delivered mostly on-the-job.
