A University of the West of Scotland (UWS) graduate and TV personality have launched a brand-new podcast on the BBC.
Nursing graduate and award-winning writer Sophie Gravia, known for her raunchy novels, has joined forces with TV personality Christine McGuinness to host a brand-new podcast, Situationships with Sophie and Christine, commissioned by BBC Scotland.
Sophie who developed her hilarious blog into three best-selling books, A Glasgow Kiss, What Happens in Dubai and Meet Me in Milan whilst working full-time as a nurse, has gone on to write a further two hit novels.
Talking about her time at UWS where she graduated with distinction from the BSc Adult Nursing degree in 2016, Sophie said:
“I studied at the Hamilton Campus during my nursing training and had a great experience. It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in the lecture theatre scribbling notes determined to graduate!
“I always wanted to be a nurse, and even now, I still love my day job, but writing has opened up so many opportunities that I never dreamed possible!”

As well as offering judgement-free advice, Sophie and Christine will give a glimpse into their own lives and situationships as they juggle the pressures of dating, parenting and their careers.
The podcast will see the duo delve into listeners’ dating dilemmas, relationship revelations and situationship struggles. Each week, audiences will be taken on a rollercoaster ride of funny, bizarre and downright weird stories of when relationships take an unexpected turn.
“Fronting this podcast alongside Christine is an absolute dream. Just like a girls’ night in, no topic is off limits, and we will be diving headfirst into the comedy, chaos and sometimes downright cringe of dating. I cannot wait to chat through our own outrageous stories together and of course hear the dating dilemmas sent in by listeners,” says Sophie.
Heather Kane Darling, Commissioning Editor BBC Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this brand-new podcast to audiences across the UK. Sophie and Christine are the perfect duo to take audiences through the highs and lows of relationships and dating. Everyone’s welcome in Club Situationships!”
Situationships with Sophie and Christine will be fully visualised and available on BBC Sounds, BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer from 19 June. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0ljlw4p
